Sam Groth: ´Roger Federer is not Rafael Nadal, He Doesn´t Fight on Every Point´

Ivan Pasquariello - 28-08-2014 - View: 22448

Tennis - Sam Groth ready to meet Roger Federer in the second round of the US Open, talks about the Swiss compared to Rafael Nadal

Sam Groth won his first match in career at the US Open just two days ago, when he scored a straight-set win over Spanish Albert Ramos. Next opponent seems more than Sam could possibly take, as the Australian will have to face Roger Federer for a place into the third round.

Despite the tough ruffle, Groth will not step on court ready to lose tomorrow. "Sometimes Federer is not that kind of player, like Rafael Nadal, who fights on each and every point. I don"t really know how to explain what I mean. I really don"t want to say that it is easier to face Roger than it is to face Nadal, but surely Federer decides to gives his best if and when he is pushed by his opponent. What is my game plan? Well, I will try to stay in the match using the effectiveness of my serve" explained Groth, currently ranked at World No.104 in the ATP rankings.

The match between the two will be played as first match in the night session on Arthur Ashe.
