London Olympics champion Serena Williams has said that she will surely participate in the Rio Olympic in 2016 as she is enjoying a great run of form and has many titles to defend.

Serena humiliated French Open champion and world number three Maria Sharapova in the Singles final at the London Olympics to capture her first Gold Medal. She then joined her sister Venus Williams to win her third Gold Medal in the doubles category.

The American said in a recent interview, "I'll definitely be in Rio if I'm healthy and I'm playing - I hope to still be playing at 100% by then," Serena said. "I have some titles to defend, too."

Serena’s elder sister Venus is unable to dominate in single events in recent times but she is still one of the best players of doubles. It looks like that time is not away when she will restart winning single titles again.

Venus stated, "We still have great tennis in our racquets. I had a great event here in singles and doubles. I feel like I hit a high here. Every day, everything is getting better for me. I just want to keep getting better and improving.”

She added, "I think nowadays tennis players are seeing you can play great tennis into your 30s. I think a lot of people were brainwashed early on that you had to quit by now, but that's not really the way it is. By the time you get to this age, you really understand the game and the nuances, and you're just getting better."

Serena is 30-year-old now but she is thrashing all of her top rivals on the WTA Tour. Just four weeks back, she defeated Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska in the Wimbledon final to grab her fifth title on the grass courts of All England Club. The 14-time Grand Slam champion has now become favorite to win the US Open which starts in the last week of August.
