David Ferrer got his campaign in Buenos Aires off to a roaring start on Tuesday, crushing Andres Molteni 6-1, 6-0 in less than an hour.
The Spaniard displayed some of his best tennis on his beloved clay, and is looking forward to the rest of the week.
"I think he was a little nervous, but I understand him," Ferrer commented afterwards. "Every player had to go through that. You can see he is a good player. I'm happy I could finish it quickly because it's always important to save energy in the early rounds."
Albert Ramos also won, upsetting veteran Juan Ignacio Chela 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
