ATP Atlanta - Andy Roddick beats 34 year old Russel to reach semi finals

31 year old American Andy Roddick has moved into the semi finals of the BB&T Atlanta Open on Friday evening.

Roddick beat 34 year old American veteran Michael Russell 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last four.

Roddick hit 12 aces in the match that lasted just over 70 minutes.

Roddick will play the winner of two-time defending finalist John Isner and 19-year-old Jack Sock.

Eighth seed Go Soeda upset third-seeded countryman Kei Nishikori 6-2, 6-1 and will meet Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller.

Muller beat Aussie Matthew Ebden 6-4, 6-4.
