Former world no. 3 Ivan Ljubicic beat Florent Serra of France 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3 on Monday at the Open 13 in Marseille, France.
"First and second set, I was serving really well," commented Ljubicic. "I never felt in trouble in terms of can I lose this; it was just after the second set because I felt like it would have been nice if I closed it in two. I was struggling in the third, the court is pretty quick. Of course, not playing a lot of matches makes things a little bit more difficult.
"It was great to get a win. This year was difficult for me. I had some tough losses, tough matches, so it's really nice to be back to winning ways."
Edouard Roger-Vasselin beat Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-2, 7-6(4) while Flavio Cipolla beat No. 8 seed Andreas Seppi 6-4, 7-6(4)
