Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic has won the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart on Sunday beating Juan Monaco in a hard fought final.
Top seeded Tipsarevic won 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 victory over second seeded Monaco to win the €64,700 first place cheque and 250 ATP Ranking points.
Tipsarevic also leveled their career head to head at 2-2 with this win.
The Serb led 4-0 in the second set after winning the first but the Argentine rallied to win five straight gamesand then win the second set 7-5.
The match was also interrupted for a while in the third set due to rain.
This is the Serb's 36th win of the year as he looks to have a career best season in 2012.
It was Tipsarevic's third career title on the ATP tour.
