Caroline Wozniacki hopes of winning the Kremlin Cup

Former world number one Caroline Woznacki of Denmark has targeted Kremlin Cup title after her recent success at the WTA Tour.

The Danish star captured her maiden title of the season by beating Kaia Kanepi in the final of the Seoul Open last month. This was her first WTA Tour title after a gap of 13 months.

Wozniacki said in a recent on interview, “My goal is victory at this tournament. Recently I’ve been competing well. I hope I can continue in the same spirit.”

The 22-year-old had started the season on the top of the world rankings but she has got dropped to the 11th position now. However, she can get back in the top 10 by winning the Kremlin Cup.

The Dane had a disappointing season, as she failed to impress at any one of the four Grand Slams, getting stunned in the first round of the Wimbledon and US Open.

She added, “Even though it’s not my best year, I still think that 11th in the world rankings is not too bad a result. I’ll be hoping for a good showing at the tournament in Moscow, then I’ll be able to return to the top 10.”

Featuring at her latest event, Wozniacki lost to Angelique Kerber in the third round of the China Open.
