Former world number one tennis player Caroline Wozniacki has said that she is not to be blamed for her boyfriend’s, Rory Mcllroy, late arrival at his Ryder Cup match.
World number one Mcllroy was slowly getting ready for the event when he was informed that there were just 25 minutes left in his tee time. He was rushed to the venue where he did not take much time to settle down and defeated his opponent.
Comment on that, Wozniacki said, "I think he mistimed the tee time. He thought he was going to play 12:25, and, well, as we all know it was 11:25. So it wasn't my fault!"
She added, "It was great considering his very late arrival yesterday, almost missing his tee time. I thought it was very well for him to be able to stay head-cool and go out there and play so well."
The Danish went on to say that it’s not easy for the couple to keep contact in different time zones. She stated, "It's tough (to keep in touch) with the time changes obviously because when one is awake the other is sleeping or when one is doing something or the other one is playing. But, you know, we try to catch up as much as we can."
