Ivan Lendl to replace Jimmy Connors in PowerShares Series

Ivan Lendl will take a break from his coaching duties to Andy Murray and play in a seniors tennis event replacing the injured Jimmy Connors in the field.

Lendl comes in for Connors on four stops in an upcoming series of matches around the US featuring former legends of the game.

Andre Agassi, John McEnroe and Pete Sampras are also playing in the series

''I enjoy playing every now and then,'' the 52-year-old Lendl said. ''I don't want to play too much. It's too hard on my body.''

The PowerShares Series begins on October 13 in Surprise, and ends on November 30 in Anaheim, Calif.
