Tennis: 2009 US Open champion and 7th seed Juan Martin Del Potro moved into the Quarterfinals with a 3 set win whereas 3rd seed and this year's French Open finalist David Ferrer lost to Russian qualifier Dmitry Tursunov in Western and Southern Open ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati.
Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro faced Spain's Feliciano Lopez. They had met six times before and their head-to-head record was evenly poised at 3 wins each. Their last meeting featured 3 tie-break set and their past record promised people of a good match.
Del Potro started strong and did not face a single break point in the first set. He converted one of the 5 break points that he got and that was enough to give him the first set 6-4.
World no.27 Lopez fought back in the second set and won it 6-1 to level it at one set all. Both players fought hard in the third set and broke each other but Del Potro broke Lopez twice to take the set 6-4 and with it he moved into Quarterfinal.
Del Potro will face former world no.20 Dmitry Tursunov in the Quarterfinal, who entered as a qualifier and shocked 3rd seed, world no.4 David Ferrer in straight sets.
Tursunov needed only 1 hour and 15 minutes as he defeated David Ferrer 6-2, 6-4 to oust the French Open finalist.
