Top seed and defending champion Novak Djokovic registered an easy win against Sam Querrey of US to book his spot in the last 8 of the tournament.

The match which could not be played on Thursday because of rain was again interrupted in the second set but it could not stop Djokovic from winning it in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

Djokovic, who is the only top 4 player left in the draw after the withdrawal of Murray, broken his opponent once in the first set and held his serves to take the first set and breaking him only in the second set was enough to go through in 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Serbian, who had lost his world no. 1 ranking to Roger Federer last month has a chance to reduce the points gap between both by winning his first title since he won Miami ATP Masters title this year.

He will next face former world no. 2 of Germany, Tommy Haas in Quarter-finals, later in the day.
