Tennis: Reigning world number one Novak Djokovic shared a couple of days back that he was having movie night with his girlfriend Jelena Ristic at their home.
The Serbian star stated that they were watching The Notebook, a 2004 American romantic drama film directed by Nick Cassavetes, on his girlfriend’s choice. The ever jolly tennis player joked that he had already arranged tissue paper due to the nature of the movie.
Djokovic posted on his facebook page, “Movie night at home. My lady's choice: the notebook. Popcorns and tissues are ready ;)”
The Serbian enjoys a very good relationship with Ristic, whom he has been dating since 2005. She can be found supporting her man from the stands during most of the matches of the six-time Grand Slam winner.
Djokovic is on a two-week break from competitive tennis. The 25-year-old stunned Rafael Nadal and ended the Spaniard’s eight year dominance at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. The Serbian star has already won three titles in this season including the Australian Open, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters.
He has also led his country to the semi-finals of the Davis Cup, winning all of his three matches against Belgium and USA in the first and second round respectively. The Serbian star will now participate in the Mutua Madrid Open.
How to play from the baseline
The expression “to endure the rally” is about those indeterminate moments of a rally where none of the players is leading.
The ability to endure the rally is fundamental when you play a “long rally”, because it offers you the chance to measure your opponent’s strong points and vulnerabilities, besides letting you position as best as possible for your next offensive shot.
