Reigning world number one tennis player Novak Djokovic has paid tribute to the women in his life specially his mother Dijana Djokovic and girlfriend Jelena Ristic on the women’s day.

The Serbian wrote on his facebook page, “I admire ladies for so many reasons: my mother was so passionate and supportive through all my life; my Jelena gives me strength and love trough all the challenges I face every day. I have sisters and aunts, friends and associates - all the great and creative ladies!”

Djokovic’s mother is always concerned about his game and has helped him since the starting days of his career. She travels with him at major tournaments and supports her son from the stands along with her husband and the two younger sons. Novak’s girlfriend Ristic also joins them at most of the matches during Grand Slams. The Serbian star has been dating Ristic since 2005.

The 25-year-old hailed all the other women, who are playing their role in building the society around the world. He added, “On this day I would like to say THANK YOU all. Thank you ladies all over the world for your courage, for your initiative, for your warm and kind smiles, for your great ideas in business, but also for your contribution in developing of the civil society. This world is beautiful because of this synergy we create as independent and equal human beings!”

Djokovic is currently in Indian Wells to take part in the BNP Paribas Open, the first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event of this season. The Serbian star will face Italy’s Fabio Fognini or Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia in the second round.
