Olympics - Americans Huber and Raymond reach the semi finals

Top ranked and medal favourites Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond became the first team to reach the semi finals of the womens doubles event at the London Olympic Games.

The Americans beat sixth seeded Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina in the quarter finals

The scoreline was 6-3, 6-3.

"We want to take it one match at a time, but it's certainly nice to be back in a semifinal, especially at the Olympic Games," Raymond cmmented. "That was our goal, and we're here now, so it's nice to be playing good tennis leading into the medal rounds. Today was a really good match for us." and are favourites

The two are also in the mixed doubles draw with the Bryan brothers and are favourites for a medal there too.
