Reigning US Open champion Samantha Stosur suffered another early exit on grass - ending her hopes of an Olympic medal in the singles event at the All England Club on Saturday.
Stosur was beaten in a tense three set battle by world no. 45 Carla Suarez Navarro on Saturday.
The fifth seeded Stosur lost 3-6 7-5 10-8.
Stosur has failed to advance beyond the third round in 11 tried at the All England club.
"It's one of those matches where there's a couple of points in it and I lost those ones," Stosur told the media later "I had break point at 4-3 in the second set and didn't convert and that was the last big chance that I had and that third set I was pretty tired."
The Australian women did not have a good outing in the womens doubles either as Jarmila Gajdosova and Anastasia Rodionova lost 6-1 6-4 to Russians Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova.
