Liezel Huber is the world's top ranked doubles player but she has never beaten the Williams sisters in a doubles match yet. And the South African born naturalised American says she hopes she and partner Lisa Raymond will meet the Williamses in the gold medal match at the London Olympics Games which kick off this weekend.
Huber and Raymond lost to the Williams sisters at Wimbledon, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
"We weren't the same players after the first set and they got hot," Huber commented in an interview. "Maybe we thought what we'd done in the first set was going to be good enough to win, but it wasn't. If we're both playing our best, we'll have a great match…Playing Venus and Serena for the gold medal would be the ideal situation, for us and for our federation. I love them as teammates, and we get along with them great. We're going to support each other in the tournament, then hopefully get to the end and battle it out."
