Radael Nadal, who has not played a match since his Wimbledon loss this year, says he does not want to miss the Davis Cup final or the year-end ATP World Tour Finals, but doubts whether he will be fit for those events.
"My main goal is to get back in the race at the Australian Open," said Rafa. "With regard to the Davis Cup final, I'd love to be there but we have to see if I'll be all right physically and mentally. In addition, we should ask ourselves whether it is right that I choose to compete after all these months away from the field when the team is preparing for a long time this important match. This is a decision that still will not touch me."
"I would say that I would be happy to return to competition at the Australian Open while being competitive at 100%."
