Tennis: 8-time French Open champion and 12-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal is practicing with doubles specialist and 7-time Grand Slam winner (3 in Men's Doubles and 4 in Mixed Doubles) Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia in his hometown Manacor.
The former world no.1 added a photo on his Facebook and Twitter account in which he is seen sitting on the bench with the Serbian Tennis player after having a session of practice on court. Zimonjic is seen drinking water and Nadal is holding his racquet.
Nadal has not played any competitive tournament since losing in the first round of Wimbledon on 23rd June. The Spaniard had lost to Belgium's Steve Darcis in straight sets to bow out in first round of any Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
Nadal's uncle and coach Toni Nadal had recently said that his nephew is preparing for a come back and he has no fear.
"Rafa will come back. He has no fear of this break - he has nothing more to lose," Toni Nadal told reporters at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart .
"Currently Rafa is doing physical training, but no court workouts. The break is important - he has played enough."
Nenad Zimonjic is not a very prominent singles player but he is one of best and top doubles players. Currently he is ranked 18th in the ATP rankings but he has been world no.1.
The Serbian is two-time winner of Wimbledon Men's Doubles event and one time winner of French Open. He has won 4 Grand Slams in Mixed Doubles, which are 2004 and 2008 Australian Open, 2006 and 2010 French Open.
Zimonjic is also the Davis Cup team-mate and compatriot of world no.1 Novak Djokovic. Djokovic is one of the biggest rivals of Nadal and he is one of very few players who have beaten Nadal 3 times on clay cort. The 26-year-old Serbian had stopped Nadal from winning 9th consecutive Monte-Carlo Masters title earlier this year by beating him in the final. They also played an epic 5 set match in the French Open semifinal this year.
Rafael Nadal had made a come back after a seven month lay-off in February this year. He reached 9 straight finals, winning 7 of them before losing in the Wimbledon first round. He has not only won on clay court this year but he has also won the only tournament that he has played on hard court.
The Mallorca resident had won the BNP Paribas Open Tennis Masters tournament in Indian Wells, which was his 24th ATP Masters 1000 title.
