Roger Federer has been happily married for 3 years to Mirka Vavrinec, whom he met at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2001. However, the Swiss star hasn’t been accompanied by his wife at the Gillette Federer Tour in Sao Paulo, Brazil because of their two daughters, who are too young to face such a long and hot trip.
Federer has attended a number of events already, and will taking part in more in this nine day exhibition tournament. The Swiss Maestro was photographed staring at Maria Sharapova’s slender legs during the pre event press conference.
Sharapova made a friendly reply by posting this on her facebook page after her match, “Sandwiched in between the two RF's after my match today.” ( picture above).
In an interview, Federer was asked if his Mirka was jealous because her husband was accompanied by some beautiful ladies at the event, to which he replied smilingly, “We don’t get jealous for each other, rather she told to have fun and enjoy every moment of this tour,” advice that Roger took literally!
How to play from the baseline
The expression “to endure the rally” is about those indeterminate moments of a rally where none of the players is leading.
The ability to endure the rally is fundamental when you play a “long rally”, because it offers you the chance to measure your opponent’s strong points and vulnerabilities, besides letting you position as best as possible for your next offensive shot.
