World number four Serena Williams has said that tennis players’ biggest dream is to win Grand Slams but from all the titles she has won, the two Gold Medals she grabbed in the doubles category of 2000 and 2008 Olympics are valued the most by her.
In an interview two days before the start of London Olympics, Serena said, "I think growing up as tennis players we always dream of winning Grand Slams and doing well at tournaments like Wimbledon.”
She continued, "But to have the opportunity to win a gold medal and be mentioned among the greatest athletes is an honor. For me of every tournament I've won, I enjoy my gold medal probably the most.”
Serena is considered to be one of the best female tennis players in the history of the sport. She defeated Agnieszka Radwanska in the Wimbledon final to win her 14th Grand Slam crown just three weeks back.
The American added, "It's exciting to be back so soon. Usually we have to wait 12 months to walk back on Center Court and feel that moment that we felt, so I'm going to be really excited to have that quick turnaround and get back on the grass where I love to play."
Although, she has tasted Olympics victory twice in the doubles category but the singles win at the biggest sports event of the world has so far eluded her. The 30-year-old will try to complete the list of titles on offer in the sport of tennis by winning singles Gold Medal here.
