From Robert Nuscher: The second annual St. Croix Tennis Pro-Am was held at the Tennis Club of St. Croix from Dec 17th-19th,2010.Pros Ryler Deheart and Jesse Witten wowed the locals by putting on an exhibition that looked like the finals of the U.S. Open! Witten prevailed with a sensational display of power 7-6,6-7,10-5.Over 150 individuals came out to watch the event on a gorgeous day in the Caribbean sunshine. On Saturday the pros came out and hit in with 16 members of the tennis club.Tennis fans got to experience the thrill of hitting against two of the top players in the world,playing points and teaming up with them during the clinic.Players had the chance to try to return Jesse or Ryler's serves for $10 a try with the proceeds benefiting the local non-profit,The St. Croix Tennis Initiative. With the help of local tennis pros Robert Nuscher and Kevin Motta,Jesse and Ryler hit with over 60 local children!What a thrill for so many junior players to meet and hit with ATP touring professionals .The guys autographed their own rackets and put them up for a raffle for the local children attending the event.In addition they brought down some items autographed by John Macenroe and Pete Sampras with the proceeds also going towards supporting junior tennis development. Robert Nuscher,the Head Professional at the Tennis Club of St. Croix,was thrilled with how the event went off without a hitch.'The weather cooperated,the turn out by the kids was incredible and the guys put on a show that will be remembered for sometime,especially in the children's eyes.' Thanks to the help from local sponsers, and Khamp Bounkong at KB Sports Management to put this event together,hopefully we will be able to add to the event next year and continue with the success of the event.

From Ryler DeHeart: The St Croix event went really well was a big success. I think the club really enjoyed both the kids and adults clinics and was really entertained by our very close and hard-fought exhibition match.

From Jesse Witten: The St. Croix event went great. We had a great turn out. The kids especially were very special and really had a great time and enjoyed themselves. They really were interested in the game and what it took to get to the level Ryler and I were at. We did a Q and A with the kids and gave away some items to each on of them such as shirts, wrist bands, hats, and tennis balls. The adult clinic went great to as we had some familiar faces return for the clinic from last years event which was great to see and be able to reconnect with them. After Ryler and I played the match which was also very close and very competitive(7-6, 6-7 10-7) we raffled off some special prizes that we had brought along like autographed McEnroe shoes, rackets, hat, and Sampras autographed balls. Overall it was a very special trip, I got engaged, and thoroughly can't wait to get back down to St Croix next year.
