US Open - Victoria Azarenka is named top seed for US Open

Serena Williams is seeded no. 4 while Venus Williams is unseeded

World no. 1 Victoria Azarenka will head into the US Open as the top seed for the first time in her career. The Belarusian won the Australian Open earlier this year. She is seeded no. 1 ahead of Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, third seed Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams.

Serena is the highest seeded American in the draw and followed by Christina McHale at no. 21 and Varvara Lepchenko at no. 32. 3 time former champion Kim Clijsters is seeded no. 23. Venus Williams, a former two time champion, is unseeded.
