Kazakh player Yaroslava Shvedova is celebrating a new career high ranking this week as she climbed from No.36 to No.28 in the latest WTA rankings.
Shvedova's previous career best was No.29 in mid-2010. But due to injuries, she was ranked as low as no. 259 just 12 months ago.
Now she is back into the top 30 after her best season on tour which also saw her reach the quarter finals of the French Open in Paris in June.
"I'm super happy to get this new high ranking. It means even more this time because I had to work so hard with my team to get back this high. It's incredible that one year ago I was outside the Top 250, and now I'm back in the Top 30.
