Canadian junior Eugenie Bouchard, seeded second in qualifying, was knocked out in the second round of the WTA Copa Claro Colsanitas in Bogota, Colombia. Bouchard lost in straight sets to Spain's Arantxa Parra Santonja. However, another Canadian Sharon Fichman had better fortunes - beating Veronica Cepede Royg in three sets to mvoe into the final round of qualifying.
