The WTA Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships have been hit by several withdrawals from top players.

World no. 3 Petra Kvitova, French Open winner Li Na and Vera Zvonareva have pulled out of the event due to various injuries and illness..

Li Na is still recovering from the back injury which has halted her play this season.
