With the top 8 players in the world taking this week off in order to prepare for the season ending WTA Tour Championships next week in Istanbul, several other big names who failed to make it to Istanbul will battle it out for WTA titles in Moscow and Luxembourg this week.
At the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Samantha Stosur, who is currently hoping to make it to Istanbul as an alternate, is the top seed. Otehrs in the field include second seed Marion Bartoli, former world No.1s Caroline Wozniacki and Ana Ivanovic and former French Open champ Francesca Schiavone. Dominika Cibulkova is also in the draw and is hoping to defend the title she won last year.
In Luxembourg, the top seed is Roberta Vinci followed by Linz finalist Julia Goerges. Former world no. 1 Venus Williams is also in the draw.
