Following his first round loss at Wimbledon on Monday, American John Isner has said that he is struggling mentally in recent months.

“Lately it's happening quite a lot, [where] I get out there in the match and I'm just so clouded. I just can't seem to figure things out,” commented Isner in his press conference. “I'm my own worst enemy out there. It's all mental for me, and it's pretty poor on my part.”

"I've got to get back to the drawing board and just sort of let things go and just try to play out there. It's just like I'm wanting to win so much that I just I lose control and I lose focus on the process.”

“He was better than me today, and that's what it comes down to. I had chances, and I didn't take them. So on my part, that's my bad. He deserved to win. I don't deserve to win that match at all.”

Isner lost to Colombian Alejandro Falla in five sets after holding a match point in the fourth set tie breaker.

He has won only 3 matches in his last 5 events after a good start t0 2012.
