World no 3 Agnieszka Radwanska reached her first career grand slam semi final after a hard fought three set thriller over Russian Maria Kirilenko.

In a match that was interrupted by rain several times, the players moved from Court no. 1 to Centre Court to play under the roof and close out the match.

Radwanska held off Kirilenko for a 75 46 75 win.

"There are no words to describe it," Radwanska commented. "The day for me was like 40 hours. I was waiting in the locker room almost the whole day. It was raining and windy outside, then at the end we played under the roof too, so I'm so happy I could finally close it out in three sets after almost three hours.

"It's much better to finish it in the same day than to wait another day."

Radwanska could become world no. 1 by wining the title here.

She will meet German no.8 seed Angelique Kerber next, who beat fellow German No.15 seed Sabine Lisicki, 63 67(7) 75.
