France's Jo Wilfried Tsonga has reached the semi finals of Wimbledon for the second consecutive year.
In a tough match on Court no. 1, the Frenchman beat first time slam quarter finalist German 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2.
He will play the winner of the match between Andy Murray and David Ferrer.
Tsonga served 17 aces during the match. After winning the third set in a tie break, Tsonga broke early in the fourth and went on to dominate the German in the fourth set.
"I am happy to win and to get a second chance at a semi-final," said 27-year-old Tsonga.
"Philipp played very well. He served well and was the better player from the baseline. It was tough out there."
