Serena Williams and Venus Williams stayed on course for another grand slam doubles title with a second round upset win over the no. 4 seeds Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova in the ladies doubles today at Wimbledon.

The Williamses won the rain delayed match which started two days ago 3-6, 6-3, 9-7.

The sisters were down 1-4 in the final set to the Russians.

Serena, who is still in the singles draw, and Venus will next take on 13th seeds Sania Mirza and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

That match is also scheduled to take place later today if the rains stay away from Wimbledon.

Serena will take on Victoria Azarenka in the singles semi finals tomorrow and many have wondered if she will pull out of the doubles since the rain has meant the doubles event is behind schedule.
