Andy Murray to play ATP Barcelona next week!
Tennis - The World No. 1 will make his fifth appearance
World No. 1 Andy Murray took a wild card invitation to play ATP 500 Barcelona next week. The British player, who lost to Albert Ramos yesterday in Monte Carlo, joins a very quality field that now has four top ten players: Murray, Kei Nishikori, Dominic Thiem and the defending champion and nine-time winner Rafael Nadal.
Murray played in Barcelona four times between 2005 and 2012, the year where he achieved his best result reaching quarter-finals losing to Milos Raonic. When he was a junior player, Andy practiced in Barcelona at the academy owned by Emilio Sánchez Vicario and Sergio Casal and he was also coached by Alex Corretja for a year.
