Tennis - The tournament was launched in 2015, and it had 2 successful editions so far, with even better one to come next March

Drummondville National Bank Challenger kicked off in march 2015, and so far the organizers managed to run two very successful editions of this indoor event, with the names like Daniel Evans, Frank Dancevic, Stefan Kozlov, Denis Shapovalov, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Lukas Lacko and Austin Krajicek battling for the title. This year's final between John-Patrick Smith and Frank Dancevic was one of the best on the Challenger Tour in the whole season, with the Aussie winning 6-7(11) 7-6(3) 7-5 after 2 and a half hours of grueling battle.

In 2017, the tournament will be held on March 11-19 at the René-Verrier indoor tennis club, but with one big change. Namely, the organizers decided to increase the prize money from $50,000 to $75,000, as they are very happy about how the event developed in these 2 years, hoping to attract an even stronger field of players. In 2016, more than 4000 people watched the matches from the stands, and another 140000 from all around the world via ATP Livestream.

“Of course the prize money increase could influence the calibre of the players who will enter the third edition of the Drummondville National Bank Challenger,” said Tournament Director Richard Quirion.
