Colorado State Rams that will kick off against Colorado at their Fort Collins Country Club on January 22 and the official site continues to introduce the new players. This time, they talked with Alyssa Grijalva, a freshman from Compton, California. She is a 2016 graduate of Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, California, with a standout career, earning a four-time first-team All-Bay League selection and three-time league MVP! Her overall record was 188-21 and that gave her a four-star recruit status by TennisRecruiting.net. Alyssa revealed who is her favorite player and also what she likes about Fort Collins:
Q: Who is your favorite pro tennis player?
Alyssa: Novak Djokovic, because he never gives up and always gives 100-percent effort on the court.
Q: At what age did you start playing tennis?
Alyssa: When I was 6 years old.
Q: What superstitions or gameday rituals do you have?
Alyssa: I always have to wear long socks.
Q: What is your hidden talent?
Alyssa: I can do a tweener (after you are lobbed, you hit a ball between your legs while facing backward)! (not recommended for beginners!)
Q: Who is the greatest influence in your life?
Alyssa: My parents, because they have always been there for me.
Q: Away from the court, what do you like to do?
Alyssa: I like to sing and listen to music.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Fort Collins?
Alyssa: The people in Fort Collins are really nice!
