Athletic Director of the Rhodes College Lynx, Jeff Cleanthes, announced that Tyler Cempre will be the new men's tennis head coach. Previously, Cempre spent two seasons as an assistant coach for both tennis teams here in Memphis, and the staff thought that he will be the perftct solution for the new head coach. During his serving as an assistant coach, 6 Lynx men earned all-confernece honors, and he also takes merits for bringing a highly-ranked recruit to the squad. Cempre is a graduate of Denison University and he was a starter in both singles and doubles in all 4 seasons. His overall record stands on impressive 101-40, deserving a six-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and hitting Top 20 in the States in doubles. Before joining Rhodes, he worked in a few clubs in Ohio and Cjicago.
"Tyler has shown in the last two seasons that he has the qualities present to take our historically great tennis program to a whole new level," says Cleanthes. "I know Tyler will represent the values of both the college and athletic department and I am thrilled to see the tremendous job Tyler does with this new opportunity."
