The Wagner College men's tennis team released its spring schedule. The Seahawks are expected to play a total of 16 matches over the spring season, 13 of which coming away from Grymes Hill.
"We have a lot of tough matches scheduled this spring which will better prepare us for conference matches" commented second-year head coach Jason Sinkoff. "The team has worked hard and is excited to get back on the courts."
Wagner will head to Latham, NY to take on the Siena College Saints of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on February 4. February closes out with a trip to the "City of Brotherly Love" as the Seahawks head to Temple on February 24 and concludes the month at Drexel on February 26.
March opens with a short trip to the College of Staten Island on March 4 before heading out to Fairfield, CT for a Northeast Conference (NEC) tilt at Sacred Heart on March 5. Following an eight-day break from competition, the squad returns for a stretch of three straight in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area, beginning against Coppin State on March 14. They close out March against Post University on March 31.
The final two games of the long road voyage, spanning a total of four states, begins on April 1st in Smithfield, RI with the third conference match of the season against defending league champions, the Bryant University Bulldogs. The road finale is set for April 5 on Long Island as they take on America East members, the Stony Brook University Seawolves.
Wagner returns home to the Wagner Tennis Courts on April 8 and 9 as they welcome the University of Delaware Blue Hens and league rival, the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights. The regular season finale is set for April 15 as the Green & White welcomes Niagara University.
