Tennis - Carter earned the honor after her great display at ITA Team Indoor Championship, with 5-0 overall score

Atlantic Coast Conference officials announced this week's Players of the Week, and those are Wake Forest junior Skander Mansouri and North Carolina senior Hayley Carter. It is the second honor of this kind for both players this season after they led their teams to some solid wins this weekend. This was the 5th Player of the Week award for Mansouri and he earned it thanks to his performance against Oklahoma State, which Wake Forest won 4-3. Together with Christian Seraphim, Skander proved why they are the top doubles pair in the States, beating Julian Cash/Arjun Kadhe 6-2 to help the Demon Deacons taking the doubles point. In singles, he won the opening set on the main court against Julian Cash by 6-3 when his rival was forced to retire. Wake Forest found a great form at the start of the season, as they await the 2017 ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship with a 6-0 score.

Hayley Carter has been on a run in the recent weeks, claiming her second Player of the Week honor in a row following her strong performance at the ITA Division I National Women's Team Indoor Championship, where she scored 3 singles and 2 doubles wins, staying undefeated throughout the competition. In the semi-final, Hayley defeated Francesca Di Lorenzo for the first time in 4 matches to send her school to the final, where both her matches stayed unfinished in a 4-2 loss to Florida Gators. Against Yale, she took down Carol Finke 6-3 6-0 and versus California, she ousted Maegan Manasse 6-2 7-6, with another good win in doubles.
