Daria Kasatkina reveals: 'Only Donna Vekic and I supported Nadal against Federer'
Tennis - All the other players in St. Petersburg room were supporting Roger
Not everyone was able to watch the Australian Open final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal last January at home. That Sunday the WTA St. Petersburg started, and so several players decided to watch the match in a room all together, and almost everyone was supporting Roger, including his compatriot Belinda Bencic, Kristina Mladenovic, Daria Gavrilova, Svetlana Kuznetsova and many other players. Only Daria Kasatkina, who revealed the anecdote in press conference on Thursday ahead of Fed Cup, and Donna Vekic were supporting Nadal, who ended up losing the final. Kasatkina also spoke about the many wild cards - three so far by Stuttgart, Madrid and Rome events - given to Maria Sharapova. 'If we consider everything Masha did in her career, she deserves something in return. Tournaments and specators clearly want to see her. So I don't see anything bad in this situation', Kasatkina said.
