Boris Becker: 'Roger Federer seems to have 10 gears'- View: 30670 by Gatto Luigi
Boris Becker had an interesting opinion on Roger Federer's straight sets win over Tomas Berdych. The Swiss player prevailed 7/6(4) 7/6(4) 6/4, and like the result suggests, he struggled a little bit. On 2-3 in the third set Federer saved two break points in a row in a brilliant way like a Champion does.
That's why Becker commented on Federer's win in a funny way: 'Usually cars have five, maximum six, gears but he seems to have 10 gears, you know', the BBC commentator and analyst said. 'When he’s in trouble, he seems to come up with an even better shot.
All credit to Berdych, he really took it to him, he played great, he played good under pressure. Every time we thought he had a little bit of a chance, Roger was just coming up with another magical shot. And that’s what makes him the greatest of all time.' The former Novak Djokovic's coach is impressed by Federer's level in this period of his career, at almost 36 age.
'To do it over such a long time, we had Ken Rosewall in the stands, to do it at 35 to be playing potentially your best tennis, who would have thought that?’ ALSO READ: Becker: 'Federer will never admit it, but he is the favourite at Wimbledon' .
