Serena Williams: 'This year I want to win Grand Slam titles'
Tennis - The American player starts her campaign in Auckland with high goals
Serena Williams is just three Grand Slam titles away from overcoming Margaret Smith Court in the special list of the all time Major winners, and wants to do it as soon as possible.
In press conference after her match won against Pauline Parmentier 6-3 6-4, the World No. 2 spoke about her goals, which are ambitious: 'Unfortunately I have the highest of goals and obviously that involves winning Grand Slams and that's all. It's basically all I want to do, but you have to win tournaments like this, or do well in them, to win Grand Slams, so these events really count', Williams said.
She didn't play her best tennis against Parmentier and would like definitely to get better: 'I want to improve...I don't just want to have the same game. We definitely worked on a few things that we want to improve on and hopefully you'll be able to tell me in the next couple of months.'
