Tennis - The Italian player will soon receive a great recognizement for her tennis career by Bari University


Flavia Pennetta will soon receive a great recognizement for her tennis career. The Faculty Senate of Bari University asked the Ministry of University and Research to confer a sport and motor activity degree to the 2015 US Open Champion, who was the only Italian tennis player beyond Francesca Schiavone at the 2010 Roland Garros to win a Grand Slam title.

'She made Puglia Region popular over the world', the Bari University said. 'During her career thanks to the tenacity, for many years, overcoming very serious injuries, to reach a dream, applying all the things about the sport and motor activity. She showed the significance of the sport, preparation and the representation of athlete at International level as a role model for younger people.'
