American Bethannie Mattek-Sands reached the last 16 of the prestigious WTA Madrid Open with a 6-2, 6-0 win over fellow American Vania King. Top seeds in action also advanced. World no. 1 Caroline Wozniacki came back from a break down in each set to beat young Serb Bojana Jovanovski 6-4, 6-4; French Open champ Francesca Schiavone needed three sets to beat Italy's Sarra Errani while fifth seed Sam Stosur beat Slovak Daniela Hantuchova 7-6, 7-5.
