World no. 1 Caroline Wozniakci was in good form as she beat Aussie Anastasia Rodionova for the loss of just 2 games. Wozniacki is looking for a confidence-bossting win ahead of the French Open after suffering back to back losses to Julia Goerges.
In-form Victoria Azarenka beat local Sarra Errani 6-1, 6-2 while Jelena Jankovic, Ni La and Sam Stosur also won their second round matches. American Bethanie Mattek-Sands was beaten on Thursday by powerful Aussie Jamila Gajdosova.
The recently divorced Aussie won 6-2, 6-4.
