WTA Brussels - Wozniacki and Schiavone in semis

World no. 1 Caroline Wozniacki reached another semi-final on the WTA tour when her oppoenent , the local favourite Yanina Wickmayer, had to withdraw early in their match with a lower back injury. Wozniacki was leading 2-0 in the first set when the Belgain decided not to continue and try and avoid further injury before the French Open which gets underway on Sunday.

Wozniacki will meet defending French Open champion Francesca Schiavone, who beat Japan's Ayumi Morita in straight sets. World no. 3 Vera Zvonareva also reached the last four thrashing Alexanda Dulgheru for the loss of just one game and meets China's Shuai Peng, who beat Swde Sofia Arvidsson.
