WTA - Ivanovic thinks she can be world no. 1 again

Serb won Bali title on weekend

After winning the Commonwealth Bank of Champions in Bali for the second consecutive year, Ana Ivanovic beleives she can reach No. 1 again. The 24-year-old Ivanovic will move to around No. 22 when the rankings are released on Monday. "

I believe so, " Ivanovic said when asked if she could return to No. 1. "My new team can help me to get there.” Ivanovic was last No. 1 in June 2008, right after she won her sole Grand Slam at Roland Garros.

The Serbian hired former LTA coach Nigel Sears after Wimbledon and also rehired her former physical trainer, Scott Byrnes.

"It will be difficult [for Ivanovic to be No. 1], but she has the technique, physique and mentality. Why not?" said Anabel Medina Garrigues, whom Ivanovic beat 6-3, 6-0 in the Bali final.

Ivanovic won her only Grand Slam in Paris in 2008 and then toppedthe world rankings before injuries and loss of confidece sent her plummeting to no. 66 in the world.
