World number five Robin Soderling has appointed fellow Swede Fredrik 'Fidde' Rosengren as his new coach.

Soderling split with Italian Claudio Pistolesi this week less than five months after hooking up with the Italian, despite picking up three titles together.

Rosengren is a veteran on the circuit having previously worked with the likes of Mario Ancic, Jonas Bjorkman and Magnus Norman, who was Soderling's coach from late 2008 until the end of last season.

";Fidde'was my first choice," said Soderling. "We have for years maintained a close relationship and I have great respect for him."

It is not yet known if the appointment will be a temporary or long term as Rosengren has previously said that he'd had enough of life on tour.

The partnership will begin at the Rome Masters next week.
