The Dutch pair took out 3rd seeded Spanish pair to reach first grand slam final

Netherland's doubles pair of Robin Haase and Igor Sijsling reached their first grand slam final as they denied Spain's Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez, who were seeded third at the event.

Lopez and Granollers were in the form of their life as they had ended last year by winning the World Tour Finals in London and had reached semifinals of US Open Men's Doubles event. They were looking favourite to reach their first grand slam final but against all expectations, Haase and Sijsling, who had never gone beyond second round of any Grand Slam's doubles event, surprised and caused an upset loss.

The Dutch pair served 5 aces and hit 33 winners in the match that lasted 1 hours and 16 minutes. They took first set 7-5 in 43 minutes and then took second set 6-4 in 33 minutes to book their place in finals.

Sijsling was playing only his second grand slam of career in doubles and had lost first round at US Open, which was his first grand slam. Haase had lost in the first round of 9 of the 11 grand slam doubles events that he played and won only one match in two of them.

They would be looking to win their first grand slam title by causing another upset, when they face most successful pair in the history of Doubles Tennis, Bryan Brothers.
