Spaniard to return next month in Chile ATP event

Several players have come out and said that there is not enough drug testing in the sport. But world no. 5 Rafael Nadal would certainly disagree.

The seven time French Open champion has been tested for doping four times in two weeks, according to sources close to the player. Overall, Nadal was tested “six or seven” times ahead of his return, ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti told DPA.

Nadal has not played since losing in the second round of Wimbledon last June and will make his return with the low key ATP event in Chile on February 11.

There have been rumours of Nadal using drugs at several points in his career but the Spaniard has never failed a doping test.

Tennis players who are on the comeback are expected to make themselves available for anti-doping tests for a few months ahead of their planned return
