BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells announces list of wild cards

Nalbandian, Blake, Date-Krumm among veterans awarded direct entry

The BNP Paribas Open organizers have announced the list of wild cards for the event which takes place in Indian Wells next month. The ten-day event which brings together the men's ATP and women's WTA tours, is one of the biggest tennis events on the calendar outside of the grand slams.

In the men's draw, wild cards have been given to former world no. 3 David Nalbandian, former world no. 4 James Blake, Americans Tim Smyczek and Steve Johnson.

In the women's draw, wild cards were awarded to 42 year old veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm, French teenager Kristina Mladenovic, former world no. 11 Shahar Peer, of Isreal, and Americans Madison Keys, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Maria Sanchez, Melanie Oudin and Taylor Townsend.

The tournament beings next week at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
