Tennis: World number five Rafael Nadal will travel to Monte-Carlo, Monaco on Friday to take part in this season’s first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event from next week.
The Spanish star also spent time with his young cousins’ football team before leaving for Monte-Carlo. Those cousins are sons of his coach and uncle Toni Nadal.
Nadal uploaded a picture on his facebook page, in which he could be seen surrounded by his cousins’ football team members. All the young footballers were happy to be accompanied by one of the best tennis players of all-time. Nadal’s cousins were sitting in his lap.
The Spaniard wrote this caption under the picture, “With my cousins' team! I went to see them off because tomorrow I'll travel to Monte Carlo.”
Nadal, who will be bidding to win his record ninth Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters title, will be the fourth seed at the event. The 11-time Grand Slam champion will receive a bye in the first round. His second round match will be most probably scheduled on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old toppled world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia in the final of this ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event last year. With his current form, the former world number one will be once again favorite to capture the title in Monte-Carlo.
