Tennis: Germany's Florian Mayer defeated former world no.3 and 2009 World Tour Finals winner Nikolay Davedenko of Russia in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. In other matches of the day Daniel Brands, Tobias Kamke, Albert Montanes, Roberto Bautista Agut, Jan Hajek and Dmitry Tursunov got victories.

Daniel Brands of Germany defeated Paolo Lorenzi of Italy in straight sets 7-5, 6-3. World no.78 Tobias Kamke of Germany defeated 38 ranks higher player Lukas Rosol of Czech Republic 6-3, 6-0. Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain got a win over Alexander Zverev of Germany 6-3, 6-2.

Albert Montanes of Spain defeated Paul Henri Mathieu of France 6-3, 6-2. Dmitry Tursunov of Russia defeated Pablo Andujar of Spain in a very tight 3 sets match. The scoreline was 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 in favour of Tursunov. Jan Hajek of Czech Republic defeated Lukasz Kubot of Poland 6-3, 6-2.

Kubot had reached the Quarterfinal of Wimbledon earlier this month. .
